The Company A mining company is looking for a Director of Facilities Management to direct all aspects of facilities operations as well as ensuring safe and productive work environment as per company objectives.
Responsibilities- Support day to day mining operations, ensure efficient operation of facilities and mitigate risk
- Develop and monitor department budget; order equipment and supplies and monitor inventory; make requests for capital outlay expenditures as needed.
- Oversee all mine facilities including camps, quarters, hostels, offices, rental buildings ensuring that they meet government regulations and environmental, health and security standards
- Direct building projects, renovations or refurbishments and support departments to relocate to new offices.
- Hold meetings with contractors, engineers and other professionals to discuss project details and timelines
- Prepare specifications for physical plant projects; estimate costs of equipment, materials, labor, and supplies; prepare bid specifications for projects, equipment, and contracted services; oversee site and mining projects performed by outside contractors
- Design and plan facilities layout and train staff on safety procedures
- Forecast space needs, ensure compliance, coordinate relocations and negotiate lease agreements
